Who runs this app
AI Running Coach (the "Service") is operated by Joruhan de Wit (DeWitTechnologies). For privacy questions or to request data deletion, email [email protected].
What we collect
- Account information: your chosen username, optional email address, and a hashed password.
- Profile details you provide: height, weight, date of birth, sport. Used to compute training-load metrics tailored to you.
- Strava activity data: when you connect Strava, we fetch your activities (distance, time, heart rate, elevation) and per-second stream data for analysis. We store the derived metrics (training load, zones, classifications) and discard the raw per-second streams immediately after analysis. We also store an OAuth token to refresh data on your behalf.
- Garmin wellness data: if you connect Garmin, we fetch sleep, HRV, Body Battery, and training readiness for each day. We store these to power your daily morning decision.
How we use it
Everything we collect serves one purpose: showing you personalised coaching guidance. Your data is processed only for your account. We do not share it with other users, sell it, license it, or combine it with other athletes' data for analytics, model training, or any other purpose.
Third-party processing (AI feedback)
We use Anthropic Claude to generate the post-run feedback and daily decision narratives you see in the app. When this happens, a subset of your training data — recent activity summaries, training load, planned session for the day — is sent to Anthropic's API for inference, then the response is stored against your account. Anthropic acts as a data processor under their API terms; they do not train models on API data by default.
We do not pass your data to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.
Where it's stored
All data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (D1 database, edge runtime). Communication between your browser, our service, and our data providers (Strava, Garmin, Anthropic) is encrypted in transit (TLS).
How long we keep it
While your account is active and Strava/Garmin are connected, we keep your derived training data for as long as it's useful for analysis (typically the full history of activities you authorise). When you disconnect Strava or delete your account, we delete the associated training data within 30 days. To request earlier deletion, contact us.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, or have it deleted at any time by emailing the address above. You can also revoke Strava's authorisation directly at strava.com/settings/apps; we will treat that revocation as a deletion request for your Strava-derived data.
Strava attribution
Some of the data you see in this app comes from Strava. Strava and the Strava logo are trademarks of Strava, Inc. AI Running Coach is not developed, endorsed, or sponsored by Strava.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced to active users via the email on their account, if provided.
